Definition and Usage
The padding-left property sets the left padding (space) of an element.
Note: Negative values are not allowed.

Browser Support
The padding-left property is supported in all major browsers.
Note: No versions of Internet Explorer (including IE8) support the property value "inherit".

Value | Description |
---|---|
length | Specifies a fixed left padding in px, pt, cm, etc. Default value is 0px |
% | Specifies a left padding in percent of the width of the containing element |
inherit | Specifies that the left padding should be inherited from the parent element |
